  Memorial.. To go or not to go

  so, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.

  haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .

  we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.

  You are in a difficult situation. First of all, no it isn't a dfing offense. There's a good chance a couple of the elders will say hi and nice to see you but they'll likely be too busy to want to talk about anything wrong you've done.

  Regarding your mom, you're in a similar situation that I was in last year but with my wife. I hadn't gone to a meeting since beginning of January '17 and she was hoping I would go to memorial. My thought was that I'd love to go for her but what consequences would come of it. She would get her hopes up that I was coming back or at the very least that I'd be attending every memorial and the congregation would love bomb me. Yes, she was very upset and heartbroken that I didn't go but in the end I was very happy to have taken a stand. After that she realized that I was truly done with the cult.

  This year she hasn't mentioned anything about it and she's ok with it. If I had attended last year, I would feel pressured to go again. When a person attends memorial it's like telling everyone "I still believe" and that is definitely not the case with me. Those are my two cents. I hope it all works out for you.

  i just talked with a pioneer who came back from school and she said that at the end there was emphasis put on two things.. 1: stay loyal to the governing body and their teachings.. 2: beware of propaganda.

  they said that in wartime the enemy will use propaganda to break the spirit of or confuse the troops.

  they said the same things is happening now, so reject negative reports about the organization.. this pioneer (who is fully pimi btw and enthusiastic about it) said she asked her cotboe about if we really have that problem here.

  for a long time, i was convinced jehovah witnesses were just people preaching the word of god in a different way than other christians.

  i was shown the real truth over the past few months.

  i've been friends with this guy for over 5 years.

  Don't look back! Doesn't matter how much of a nice guy he's been, how loving he is, etc, the cult will control the direction his life takes completely. Cult members can be the smartest people in the world but once your under the influence of the cult all of the intelligence and reasoning go out the window. You will not be the most important person in his life any longer and you will have many fights and arguments over his being part of the cult. You will lead a separate life from his. Please listen to the advice and run.

  Classic Talk Regarding KH Consolidation

  last night i was listening in as my spouse was on the phone line.

  there was a big "local needs" talk announced and it was speculated to be about the congregation reshuffling.. that ended up to be the case.

  i thought i used to lay it on thick from the platform....... this was the ultimate spin job - worthy of political office or a spot on the governing body.. one thing that stood out "while the numbers may not necessarily indicate it, it is clear jehovah is speeding up the work".

  i was sat in the assembly hall yesterday, wondering how many pimo ones like me there was there.

  or even if they don't know ttatt still don't believe it for whatever reason.. i think there must be more of (us) there than we all realise.

  i mean, brothers reaching out is at an all time low, information via the internet is at an all time high and the preaching work has now become a motionless, speechless babysitting of a book shelf advertising a website as someone here pointed out!.

  My Dissociation letter

  hi to everyone!i was summoned to the judicial committee and went.

  it was a respectful conversation from one side to the other.

  in the end i handed the dissociation letter in hand and a binding to each of the elders, with an article i wrote on the subject, "are jehovah's witnesses a destructive sect?

  @TJCurioso I loved your letter. It practically had everything that should cause those men to question their faith. Unfortunately they most likely only read a few paragraphs before determining the information was from a disgruntled former member and stopped reading. They wouldn't want to go against the gbs (god's) instructions to poison their minds.
